Howscales Holiday Cottages

 

The five cottages at Howscales each have their own special features.

Geltsdale
Geltsdale

Geltsdale was converted from a barn and has a double and single bedroom on the ground floor with a shower room and living/kitchen area on the first floor. You can site back, relax and enjoy the views over theGeltsdale and Renwick fells.

The Granary

Originally the grain store, the Granary is the smallest cottage with stunning views onto Hartside and the Alston Moors. This is a cosy retreat for two, having a double room and shower room on the ground floor, with living/kitchen area on the first floor.


Ravendale
Ravendale
Ravendale was created from the main barn to produce a cottage of real character, with a distinctive arched facade and interior floor level arched windows on the first floor. Two double bedrooms and shower room are on the ground floor.
Hazelrigg

Inglewood was formally the dairy and is now a spacious cottage for four with a double with ensuite shower room and a twin with en-suite bath/shower. From the comfortable lounge you can enjoy looking over the garden and down the Eden Valley.

Once the milking parlour, Hazelrigg is a snug cottage for two with a large double (or twin by arrangement) with en-site bathroom. Hazelrigg has been especially adapted for wheelchair users. Relax and enjoy views across the garden towards the Renwick and Alston Moors.

All the cottages have central heating and are fully carpeted. The bedrooms all have honey pine furniture, comfortable beds with duvets with pretty floral covers and co-ordinating curtains. Even electric blankets for those chilly evenings are provided! All have electric shaver sockets, too.

The kitchens are equipped and provide all the comforts of home. Each kitchen has an electric oven, gas hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave, toaster etc. - Everything you may need for that special meal.

The lounge areas have pine furniture and comfortable suites, and for your entertainment, radio and combined tv/dvd/vcr/cd player. All the cottages have their own access and there is ample parking, some under cover. Each cottage has extensive information packs about local events, places of interest, walks and where to eat, all to help you plan your holiday.

Laundry facilities are available. Automatic washing machine and tumble dryer (coin operated) with drying racks and outside clothes line. A payphone is provided for your convenience, but please note it does not accept incoming calls.

Children are always welcome and there is a cot and high chair available.

Well behaved pets are accepted (small additional charge), but cannot be left unattended in the cottages.

All of our guests are most welcome to enjoy everything the garden has to offer, whatever the season. BBQ facilities are available should you wish to enjoy cooking in the open air.

There are many quiet corners at Howscales, places where you can sit back and relax and take in the peace, the quietness, the wide open countryside and the breathtaking views.
