Botanical Classes with David Pearson

Courses will run on the same lines as before and subjects will be seasonal and with a choice, or you can bring along work in progress.

Cost will be £30 per class or £58 for the two day course.

Course Dates

Course Materials

David will provide the appropriate water colour paper at a small charge.

Brushes- size: 1-3-5-7
Pencils: HB and 2H
Drawing boards- A2 size- economy version.

Suggested colours to bring that David recommends for botanical work – no need to purchase as can be obtained on the day when required.

Lemon yellow -  Cadmium yellow – Cadmium yellow deep
Cadmiun orange
Cadmiun red -  alizarin crimson – genuine rose madder - permanent magenta
Winsor violet -  paynes grey – davey’s grey
Ultramarine blue – cobalt blue -  cerulean blue
Hookers green
Yellow ochre -  burnt sienna -  raw umber - sepia

Courses

All the courses will be held here at Howscales.

Numbers will be limited , maximum 9, to enable lots of individual tuition.

All the courses are suitable for all abilities and beginners are especially welcome.

Refreshments and a light lunch are included in the price of each day.

All the classes will run from 10 am to 4.00pm each day with a lunch break at approximately 12.30- 1.15pm.

Payment to be made 2 weeks prior to course date. Complete booking form and return to secure places.

David Pearson

Once again delighted to have David return to Howscales. Following a career in teaching and lecturing David has been involved in graphic design, illustration and has spent time as artist in residence at University of Durham Botanical Gardens. David’s very precise botanical watercolours have been exhibited from the Hancock museum to the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew and his work features in private collections around the world.
