The Eden Valley

The Eden Valley has not only wonderful scenery, but also many small, delightful villages and hamlets. During the year there are several festivals, country and craft fairs, farmers' markets, and traditional agricultural shows.

Here you will find buildings and places of historic interest, stately homes such as Dalemain or Hutton-in-the-Forest and delightful gardens such as Acorn Bank. The Settle-Carlisle railway passes through the area and to the North is Hadrian's Wall and the border country. There are country inns serving real ales, tea rooms, village bakeries, individual shops, antique centres, art galleries and garden centres.

There are many opportunities for golf, horse riding and fishing

All this and the delightful scenery to explore by foot, bicycle or car.
